MARJORIE FLYNN ROOS, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home on May 21, 2018, with her loving husband by her side. Devoted wife to David J. Roos. Loving mother to Mark D. Roos and his wife, Judith; Karen L. Roos, M.D.; Megan Patterson and her husband, Edward; Patricia Roos; and Susan R. DiGiacomo and her husband, Louis. Beloved grandmother to Sarah Essl, Frank Flaherty, Annie Hanrahan, Bryan Roos, Brittany Ryan, Janice Hrisomalos, Louis D. DiGiacomo, Nicholas D. DiGiacomo and Alexander M. DiGiacomo. Cherished great grandmother to Mia, Rose, Gabriel, Nina, Owen, Claire, Bianca and Daphne. Dear sister-in-law to the late Kenneth Roos and his wife Lois; the late Rev. Monsignor Jules Roos (Chimbote Mission); Ralph Roos and his wife Therese and Dan Roos and his wife Barbara. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 18, 1928 to the late Margaret Ryan Flynn and the late Leo Flynn, Marjorie attended Assumption Elementary School in Bellevue and St. Raphael High School in the Morningside section of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1946. She also attended Memphis State University while living in Memphis, TN. Her first job was an instructor for Bell Telephone in their customer service division in Pittsburgh. Marjorie married her childhood sweetheart on December 27, 1952 while he was on leave from the Air Force during the Korean War. She served as a CCD instructor for both grade school children and teens at the parishes of St. Alphonsus Church in Brooklyn Park, MN. and Resurrection Church in Memphis, TN, in addition to serving as a eucharistic minister at the St. John Newman Church in Franklin Park, PA. Marjorie was also a eucharistic minister and lector for both St. Helena Church in Blue Bell, PA and St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Goodyear, Arizona. She loved to sew and to paint artwork, providing her family with many beautiful and cherished oil paintings. She also loved living in the Southwest, which provided much inspiration for her paintings.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Friday, May 25, 2018, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 9:00am until 10:15am at the LOUIS A. DiGIACOMO FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 1055 Southampton Road, Phila., followed by her funeral mass 11:00am at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA, 19116. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
